Firearm Safety

Australian Precision practices and promotes safe firearms handling and responsible firearms ownership. In Australia we are very highly regulated on ownership and use of firearms and have very few incidents on the misuse of firearms by registered and licenced firearms owners, part of that comes down to safety courses, training and education on firearms prior to getting a firearms licence and continual training depending on the type of firearms licence and what sort of discipline or hunting activity you plan to participate in.

The 10 basic rules of firearms safety are listed below:

  1. Treat Every Firearm As Loaded
  2. Always Point Firearms in a Safe Direction
  3. Load a Firearm Only When Ready to Fire
  4. Identify Your Target and What is Behind it
  5. Check Your Firing Zone
  6. Store Firearms and Ammunition Safely
  7. Avoid Alcohol or Drugs Prior to and While Handling Firearms
  8. Never Have Loaded Firearms in the Car, Home, or Camp
  9. Never Fire at Hard Surfaces or Water
  10. Do Not Climb Fences or Obstacles with Loaded Firearms

Promoting safe firearms handling and responsible ownership of firearms is the responsibility of every firearm owner, these are just the basic rules. For more detailed information on Firearms Safety, please visit:
